MYOB Retail Manager

One of Australia's best-selling Point of Sale (POS) systems, MYOB Retail Manager puts you in control, streamlining store operations and business management to your requirements.

RetailManager enables fast sales and customer service, manages your inventory from end to end, reports GST, helps manage staff, and can profile customer information. RetailManager works with most MYOB business management software to make reporting your BAS statement easy.

RetailManager comes with 12 months Retail Enhancement and Support, giving you free 7-days-a-week Technical Support and software updates and upgrades.

What’s new in this version:

Pricing grade improvements

In MYOB RetailManager v8 you could only set pricing grade rules for the Category 1 and Category 2 item classifications. In v9 you can set pricing grade rules for a particular department and for all three categories.

You can also filter the right pane of the Set Pricing Structure window to show the rules set for a specific pricing grade. To do this, select a department, select a pricing grade and click the View Selected Grade option.

Scan individual units for fractional quantities

You can now choose to scan items that are sold in fractional quantities with the default quantity of one, or to manually enter the quantity sold each time.

To set the default quantity to one, check the Scan Individual units for Fractional Quantities option in the Options window; otherwise, to enter the quantity each time, leave the checkbox unchecked.

Changes to single-item stock take

When performing a single-item stock take, you will no longer be prompted to display the Discrepancy report prior to committing the stock take. However, the Discrepancy Report button is now available at all times from the Stock take window.

Also, you can now simply press ENTER or TAB to add the counted quantity.

Also note that you will now be prompted to back up your shop front when you commit a single-item stock take.

Export reports to PDF

You can now export RetailManager reports to PDF (Portable Document Format).

Ingenico PC-EFTPOS terminals are supported

You can now integrate certain Ingenico PC-EFTPOS terminals with MYOB RetailManager. Because this type of EFTPOS terminal does not have its own printer, you will need to use your own printer (docket or A4) for signature slips and dockets.

PC-EFTPOS terminals are bank-independent terminals that are capable of working with all major banks. You should, however, contact your bank before you decide to integrate an EFTPOS terminal with RetailManager.

RetailBasics Importer

If you use MYOB RetailBasics, you can use the new RetailBasics Importer to import stock, staff and customer records from RetailBasics into RetailManager.

To access the importer, go to the File menu and choose RetailBasics Importer.

Because RetailBasics is designed differently from RetailManager, you will need to complete certain setup tasks after you complete the import. For more details, consult the “Setting Up” chapter of the MYOB RetailManager User Guide.

Support for USB

Support for point-of-sale devices that use a USB (Universal Serial Bus) connection was introduced in the RetailManager v8.1.2 security update, and is incorporated in v9.

The USB interface is used by many new POS devices such as barcode scanners and docket printers, and other peripheral devices such as scanners, digital cameras, zip drives and flash drives.

Improved search and reporting

Improved search and reporting capabilities were introduced in the RetailManager v8.1.2 security update, and are incorporated in v9.

You can now form complex queries to search through departments and categories. This means that you can also produce more types of reports on departments and categories.

The search speed of RetailManager is also improved.

Auto-fill in the Sales window

The Sales window now has an auto-fill feature. If only one match is found when searching from the Sales window, the details are automatically displayed as you press TAB or ENTER to move to the next field.

Improved Search window

The Search window now displays the stock list in alphabetical order if your database has fewer than 20,000 items. For large databases, the stock list displays items in the order of creation from oldest to newest item, with packages and non-stock items (such as freight) at the end of the list. However, you can still display the list in alphabetical order by clicking the Description column heading.

The Search window has also been modified to display more information about the stock item you have chosen.

Include inactive records option

The Include inactive records option lets you include records in your search that you had previously assigned to be hidden in searches and reports
